Early Life and Calling

Sister Saramma Kochamma was a woman chosen by God — a humble servant whose life became a living message of faith, compassion, and sacrifice.

Born into an ordinary family, she grew up with an extraordinary hunger for God's presence. From her earliest days, she showed deep love for prayer and a heart that longed to serve the suffering and the forgotten.

In the quiet heart of Kerala, during a time of deep social and spiritual change, God raised a humble woman to shine as a beacon of divine love and faith — Sr. Saramma Kochamma, the blessed founder of Bethel Ashram. Her life was a testimony of complete surrender, unshakable faith, and compassionate service.

Even as a young girl, she was drawn to prayer and solitude, often spending hours seeking the Lord's presence. Her journey of faith began not through ease or comfort, but through trials, sickness, and rejection that refined her spirit like gold.

Through personal suffering, she learned the meaning of total dependence on God. In prayer, she received divine visions and the assurance that she was chosen for a sacred purpose — to bring spiritual renewal among believers and hope to the broken.

“A life surrendered to God becomes a fountain of blessing to the world.”

— Sr. Saramma Kochamma

Her Living Legacy

Bethel Ashram continues as a house of prayer for all people. Every act of love, every prayer, and every soul comforted carries forward the mission she began in faith.
